Because we believe that people are the critical force for change within each nation, the International Human Rights Law Group has developed programs and partnerships with local groups in
Afghanistan/Pakistan,
Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Brazil,
Burundi,
Cambodia, the
Democratic Republic of Congo,
Morocco,
Nicaragua,
Nigeria,
Sierra Leone, the
United States and
Yemen.
Our country programs stress the development of the skills essential to addressing human rights concerns and promoting justice including fact-finding and reporting and advocacy and strategic lawyering at the domestic and international levels.
To help amplify the voices of local activists in the international arena, IHRLG facilitates NGO access to international fora, such as the United Nations and the Organization of American States, where the broader debates about international human rights take place. We also help build coalitions and link civil society groups and human rights leaders with their international counterparts.
