Deputy Director of Programs
As the Deputy Director of Programs, Mr. Bromley provides legal and technical support to IHRLG field operations in Africa, the Middle East and South Eastern Europe. He is also responsible for reviewing international law standards in briefs filed before United States courts, coordinating research on war crimes and transitional justice issues, producing regular updates on developments within the United Nations human rights system.
Mark Bromley recently returned from an interesting leave of absence from IHRLG during which he worked as a legislative assistant for foreign policy for Senator Russ Feingold.
Mr. Bromley holds a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and an undergraduate degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He has lectured and published on human rights and international law issues. His recent publications include "Supporting Reconciliation and Human Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina through Legal Outreach" and "Human Rights and Access to Justice in Post-Conflict Environments". He is proficient in French, Japanese and Spanish.
