Houda Benmbarek joined the International Human Rights Law Group's Morocco team in July 2001. As Morocco Program Assistant, Ms. Benmbarek is responsible for managing our Resource Center in Rabat and our weekly listserv on Women's Human Rights in Morocco, handling monthly financial reports, and administrative duties. Prior to joining IHRLG, she volunteered with several local NGOs, including l'association Lalla Hasna pour sourds et muets and l'association Lalla Miriem Orphelinat in Casablanca.
Ms. Benmbarek also interned in the human resources department of the Centre national d'énergies et des techniques nucléaires and in the financial and customer service areas of the computer retail and travel industries.
After obtaining her baccalaureate in Modern Literature in 1998, she studied at the Faculty of Law in Rabat for one year. She studied for an additional two years at the IFIAG/Rabat to become a trilingual assistant, focusing on business English, correspondence, translation, accounting, statistics and communication. She is fluent in Arabic, French, Spanish and English.
